John Cena vs The Rock is one of those WWE Rivalries that happens once in a generation and this was one of those feuds that brought a lot of money for WWE and it was a massive success. John Cena and The Rock were both some of the greatest of all time and this rivalry started in 2011 and it went on till 2013 but there were a lot of twists and turns in this legendary feud.

It all started in 2011 at the night The Rock returned as a surprise guest host for WrestleMania 27 on an episode of Raw and it was a legitimate Surprise for everyone and The Rock went it on John Cena and called him names and thus started a Rivalry that would change the course of WWE forever and John Cena responded immediately and it was entertaining till WrestleMania 27.

It Takes a dramatic turn
It was WrestleMania 27 and The Rock was the guest host for that show and the main event for that show was John Cena vs The Miz for the WWE Championship and the match was going well until The Rock entered the ring and cost John Cena the match and thus this Rivalry took a serious turn and at Raw the next day it was made official as the main event of WrestleMania 28 where would be John Cena vs The Rock and the WWE fans were over the moon. This was the first time that the main event of a WrestleMania was set a year in advance.

Survivor Series 2011 and the build to WrestleMania 28
The next big step of their feud took place in 2011 when it was The Miz and R Truth vs John Cena and a partner and John was not getting a partner but at the end The Rock answered the call and they teamed up to beat the other team and after the match The Rock took out John Cena. Although as WrestleMania 28 got closer the build to the match started and it was one of the best builds ever as the WWE universe saw concerts and rapa from both of them as they were dissing each other and by the time WrestleMania 28 came the fans were all ready for it.

The Rock wins WrestleMania 28
Their match at WrestleMania 28 was an incredible match and both John Cena and The Rock were in it to put on a show and for the next 30 minutes they did just that as there were so many near falls and It looked like John Cena had the win but one mistake and The Rock capitalized and won the match. And it left John Cena distraught.

The Redemption at WrestleMania 29
The year 2013 came and The Rock won the WWE Championship from CM Punk at the Royal Rumble and John Cena won the Royal Rumble that year and thus the rematch was set for WrestleMania 29 and by the time the match came they had another great match and although The Rock got injured early on in the match he persevered on and finished the match and at the end John Cena beat The Rock for the WWE Championship and thus their Rivalry came to an end.
