Damian Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. He cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Drew McIntyre after he beat Seth Rollins. Drew McIntyre was beaten up by CM Punk and Damian Priest took advantage of this and became World Heavyweight Champion. The fans were initially not in favor of him becoming Champion but he has proven that he can be the top guy on Raw.

Damian Priest is a wrestler that has worked hard throughout his career to reach this point. He was Punishment Martinez in his independent run where he was in TNA and looking at his size and his wrestling skills, WWE signed him. He was in NXT where he got better as a wrestler and as a promo. He was called up to the main roster 3 years ago. He had his first big match at WrestleMania 37 where he was teaming with Bad Bunny and he has only gotten better as time went on. Damian Priest is the true definition of a hard worker. He joined The Judgement Day in 2022 and since then he has become the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions with Finn Balor twice. He has helped Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonough and he was the one who pitched for R Truth to be a part of The Judgement Day storyline.
Damian Priest then won the Money in the Bank and he was made fun of because he did not cash in on Seth Rollins despite getting so many chances. Damian Priest waited for his time and at WrestleMania 40 he cashed in and won the World Heavyweight Championship. It was the second time at WrestleMania that the Money in the Bank was cashed in on. He has been the World Heavyweight Champion for almost 45 days and he has become the leader. He had a great match against Jey Uso at WWE Backlash in Lyon, France. And in his promo with Drew McIntyre on Raw this past week he decimated the best heel with truths. Damian Priest said that it was Drew McIntyre that stopped him from cashing in on Seth Rollins multiple times and then at WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre made CM Punk more important than everything else including his wife.
This was the promo that made people think twice and now the WWE fans are enjoying this reign by Damian Priest. He cemented himself as World Champion and he still has at least a month left in this reign. He has agreed to give Drew McIntyre a World Heavyweight Championship match and it will most likely take place at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow Scotland which is the hometown of Drew McIntyre. Damian Priest is more than 40 years old and he still is in his prime. He easily can go for a number of years and win more World Championships. Triple H made the right decision by rewarding Damian Priest. It is good to see Damian Priest proving all his doubters wrong and he can really stamp his authority as the champion in the next month.
