Top 5 Best Storylines in WWE history

WWE is a company that is based on storylines in wrestling and those storylines lead to big matches between the WWE superstars and this has been going on for decades and this is the main advantage of WWE as compared to other sports as there is no need for a story and the crowds are kept away from the action and in WWE the storylines are made so that the crowds get into the action and the emotion comes out of them everytime.

Over the last 40+ years there have been a lot of incredible storylines that have played out in WWE and to choose a Top 5 from all of them will be extremely difficult but that is the fun of these lists. This list could be very different from other lists as there are many great Storylines.

So, let’s look at the Top 5 Best Storylines in WWE history

1) The Bloodline Story

There has not been a better and a more layered story been told in WWE history than the ongoing Bloodline story and the best part about it that it is not finished yet and it has been absolutely masterful. It all started 3 years ago during the pandemic era when Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman came together to form this alliance and then slowly the Bloodline was formed and Jey Uso was not willing to align himself with Roman Reigns and they had 2 classic matches and after that Jey Uso was in the Bloodline and then Jimmy Uso was in the Bloodline. Last year the addition of Sami Zayn took this story to the next level and Solo Sikoa was the perfect muscle for the Bloodline. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have finished their story but there is still so much left like Jey Uso’s redemption and the Roman Reigns story.

2) Daniel Bryan vs The Authority

This was the best WWE story before the Bloodline story and this story was a mixture of reality and storytelling as at first WWE behind the scenes were not ready to accept Daniel Bryan as the face and this was not acceptable to the fans and they started the Yes Movement and at long last WWE gave in to the fans and then started the storytelling where The Authority would put obstacles in his way to make sure that he would not get to WrestleMania but the people were firmly behind Daniel Bryan and he got a match against Triple H and at WrestleMania 30 he beat him and finally in the main event he won the Undisputed WWE Championship. This was a story between the fans vs WWE and the fans won this time.

3) Austin vs McMahon

The Austin vs McMahon story has to be there among the best storylines in WWE history. This Rivalry is considered as the greatest of all time and it is all because of such great storytelling. Austin was the face of the common people who would go against their arrogant boss who would not treat them with respect and the fans were so behind him and Mr McMahon was the best heel of all time because he was so great as the dastardly boss who would do anything to screw Austin over. And whenever Austin would get the better of Vince McMahon everyone would feel great and this was the result of long term storytelling between those two.

4) The 4 WrestleMania Story between Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and Triple H

This story was a special story because it ran for 4 years and especially from WrestleMania 25-28 and it is rare that a story can stretch across 4 different WrestleMania events. The 3 WWE superstars in this story were 3 of the greatest of all time and at WrestleMania 25 Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker had the best match In WrestleMania history and then at 26 Shawn Michaels retired from wrestling, at 27 , The Undertaker was not able to walk even after winning and finally at 28 it was the end of an era inside Hell in a Cell. It is very unlikely that a story of this nature will run for 4 WrestleMania events in a row.

5) The Mega Powers face off

This was the greatest story in the 1980s where if was all about Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage and they formed the Mega Powers as both of them became an alliance along with Miss Elizabeth with them and at WrestleMania 4 they were together and helped each other win matches and then for the next year they were like brothers but in between Randy Savage got jealous when Hulk Hogan would get close to Miss Elizabeth and he would think that Hulk Hogan is cheating with Miss Elizabeth on Randy Savage but that was not the case. The story was played so masterfully that the fans brought into the fact that this could have happened and they started to take sides and finally at WrestleMania 5 they faced off in the main event where Hulk Hogan beat Randy Savage.
