The WPL is just less than 10 days away and all the 5 teams are making their moves as the tournament approaches and they are announcing their captains as well and the first team to announce their captain was RCB who named Smriti Mandhana as their captain for the WPL. Smriti Mandhana was the highest paid player in the WPL and she is in good form at the World Cup.
However the RCB team at the WPL had some really experienced leaders in their team and they could have made them captain just like the UP Warriorz named Alyssa Healy their captain yesterday even though they had the local player in Deepti Sharma.

Smriti Mandhana is the absolute right choice made by the RCB management and there are a few reasons for it. First is that she is one of the absolute best players in the world and she is such a dynamic player that she can change the match on her own. Few people have said that Smriti Mandhana has no leadership experience but sometimes when given a chance people like her turn out to be great leaders and the RCB management have made a bold decision.
Even though the likes of Elysse Perry who is the greatest cricketer of all time and the current England captain Heather Knight and the current South Africa captain In Dane Van Niekerk are there , still the choice of Smriti Mandhana is the right one because she is the biggest face from India and tournaments such as these need a face the fans can get behind and she is a brand
The Third reason is that unlike some of the other leaders that will be appointed Smriti Mandhana is the youngest and she will be able to lead the RCB team for years just like Virat Kohli led the Men’s team for almost a decade but Smriti Mandhana could lead the team to the trophy in their first year as they have the best team.
