US Open 2024 Preview: Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff Vie for Women's Title; Djokovic, Alcaraz, Sinner Battle for Men's Glory

The US Open 2024 is heating up! Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Coco Gauff are poised to dominate the women's singles, while Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jannik Sinner vie for the men's title.

Contenders to win at US Open 2024

The last Grand Slam of the year will be starting and it is time for the US Open. It will be played from 26th August. The Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles will be the most followed events like is the case with all the Grand Slams. The players will be arriving at this tournament after the Paris Olympics.


Let’s look at the Contenders to win at the US Open 2024

Women’s Singles

Iga Swiatek

The world number 1 has to be the favorite to win the tournament. She has had a mixed year and she will look to get motivation from the Bronze Medal she won at the Paris Olympics. She was disappointed at not winning the Gold Medal. She has won the French Open. Iga Swiatek will look to win the US Open. She will have competition and Iga Swiatek will win her 6th Grand Slam if she wins the US Open.


Aryna Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka is the most dominant player in the women’s game. There are very few players who have more power than her. She did not have a very good Paris Olympics and she will look to bounce back at the hard courts in the US Open. Aryna Sabalenka does very well in hard courts at the Australian Open. She will look to get past Iga Swiatek and the defending champion Coco Gauff.


Coco Gauff

The defending champion Coco Gauff has to be among the Top 3 contenders to win the US Open again. She is a local hero and she will look to make it back to back at the US Open. She had a horrible Paris Olympics and she was unable to win a medal for her country. She was angry at the Match umpire and from there she has had time to regroup and come back strong at her home Grand Slam. Coco Gauff will be motivated but it will not be easy.

 

Men’s Singles

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has to be the favorite to win the US Open. He won the last big thing in tennis which was the Olympic Gold Medal for Serbia. The emotions that he showed on the court that day were something that had never been seen before. He has completed tennis and now he will look to have fun. This is a very dangerous sign for all his opponents. He will look to win his 25th Grand Slam and he the first man since 2008 to win back to back US Open titles. He will have to face Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and others.


Carlos Alcaraz

The Silver medalist and the winner of the French Open and Wimbledon this year Carlos Alcaraz will look to win his 3rd Grand Slam of the year. This has been the best year in the young career of Carlos Alcaraz. He has won 4 Grand Slams at the age of 21 and he has more than 15 years of tennis ahead of him. He will look to win the US Open and especially beat Novak Djokovic who beat him to win the Gold Medal.


Jannik Sinner

The most controversial tennis player in the world without a doubt. The eyes of the world will be on him. He is the world number 1 and he has recently been involved in a major doping incident where he was cleared. This has angered the other players who say that he has been given special treatment. He will look to motivate himself to win the US Open and give a reply to all the people who doubted him. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will be tough to beat.
