She beat Cristina Buasca by 6-4,6-0 and then in the Third round she beat Wang Xinyu in the worst way possible by 6-0,6-0 which has rarely happened and in the the fourth round she beat Lesia Tsurenko by retirement of her opponent. Then came the knockouts and in the quarter final she best Coco Gauff easily by 6-4,6-2. In the semi final she best the Brazilian Haddad Mia by 6-2 and in the second set it was close but Iga won by 7-6.
Karolina Muchova
There is generally a big surprise in almost every Grand Slam and in this one it was the Russian Tennis player Karolina Muchova and she has played excellent tennis and has booked her place in the final. She has not had as easy a journey as she beat Maria Sakkari by 7-6,7-5 in the first round. Karolina Muchova won her third round match by 6-3,6-2 and her fourth round match by 6-4,6-3 to reach the knockouts. In the quarter final she was cool as she beat her opponent by 7-5,6-2 to set to an all Russian semi final. The semi final was a close match as Karolina Muchova won the first set 7-6 in the tie break but in the second set Aryna Sabalenka won by 7-6 and the in the third set Karolina Muchova won by 7-5 in one of the most thrilling matches of this French Open.
