This was the first Commonwealth Games and it was held in 2006 which was 16 years ago and Sharath Kamal shined throughout this tournament and he won every match that he was in. He won his Round of 16 match in 5 games then in the Quarter Final he took 6 games to beat his opponent, in the semi final he only took 4 games to reach the final and in the final it was a 7 game thriller where Sharath Kamal kept his cool and won the Gold Medal for India. This was the start of a legendary career.
2022 Commonwealth Games Men’s Singles Gold Medal
This is the most recent Gold Medal that Sharath Kamal won in the Commonwealth Games and it was 16 years after he had won his first Gold Medal. This shows the range and the longevity he has had in his career. Sharath Kamal was already in red hot form in these games and in the semi final he beat the home Favorite in 6 games to earn a place in another final and in the final he took on World number 20 and Sharath Kamal used all his experience to win the match in just 5 games and that too after losing the first game. This was a momentous achievement for him.

2010 Commonwealth Games Men’s Singles Bronze Medal
Sharath Kamal and medals in the Commonwealth Games is a beautiful love story and it continued in 2010 at Delhi where he won the Bronze Medal. Sharath Kamal was the home Favorite and he won all the matches till the semi final where he lost to his opponent in 7 tough games which must have been heartbreaking but to come back and win the Bronze Medal and add another medal to his kitty was a special effort.
2018 Commonwealth Games Men’s Singles Bronze Medal
The fourth singles Commonwealth Games Medal for Sharath Kamal and this is a staggering achievement because more than 70 nations participate in the Commonwealth Games and for him to win so many Medals across events is amazing. Sharath Kamal once again reached the semi final where he faced a better opponent who beat him in 4 games but in the Bronze Medal match he bounced back and beat the English opponent in 5 games to win the Bronze Medal for India.

2022 Commonwealth Games Mixed Doubles Gold Medal
The last performance is a doubles Gold Medal but in this medal the effort that Sharath Kamal put not only as a player but also as a mentor to Sreeja Akula was sensational. Sreeja had a sad and to her singles run but Sharath Kamal motivated her and they won the Gold Medal. In the semi final they beat the Australian Mixed Doubles pair in 5 games and in the final they beat the Malaysian pair by 3-1 to win the Gold Medal.
