We are in the month of the T20I World Cup and now everyone is guessing which 4 teams will make the semi final of the World Cup this year and so we are also here to try and make out which are the Top 4 teams that will fill up the semi final spots and are the Top 4 Contenders for the trophy this year in Australia. Almost all the teams are playing their last international matches before the World Cup and will board the flight to Australia.
Before we have a look at those 4 teams I just want to say that almost all the 8 teams that have qualified and a couple of other teams that will most likely qualify from the final qualifying stages of the tournament make 10 teams that are capable of winning this World Cup. It will be a great tournament spread across Australia and there will be no dew to help any team over the other. So, let’s see the 4 teams that will be the contenders to the title.
AUSTRALIA
The home team and the defending World Champions are obviously one of the top contenders to the title as they will be playing at their home grounds and they have the same core team that won them the title last year and their batting is too class with a good mix of power hitters and batters who can anchor the Innings and more importantly their bowling is one of the best in the tournament. They will most likely make the Top 4 and if they don’t then it will be a huge shock.

INDIA
Another team that is a strong favorite just because of the way they have played their cricket since the last World Cup where they were knocked out in the Group stages and in the last 10 months under a new captain in Rohit Sharma, India have played a very aggressive brand of cricket especially with the bat and they have been making big Scores and with no dew in Australia they will not have to worry about their Bowlers going for lots of runs and probably India have the best Top 7 in this tournament. They will most probably make the Top 4 this year.
NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand is a team that is the most consistent team in ICC events and last year when no one gave them a chance they made the Final and just lost the match. New Zealand will be my third team that I think will be strong contenders, they be under the radar most of the times and when the time is right they show all the skills that they have and this year as well they have a great team with some new young players as well and their bowling is top class which will help them in Australia. I am counting on New Zealand to yet again be in the Top 4.
SRI LANKA
This pick might be surprising but the way this team has played in the last year or so and winning the Asia Cup in some style will give them a lot of confidence. They will have to play a few qualifying matches a week before the main tournament starts and once they win those and go to the main event, they will have had an idea of the pitches and the weather and I think they will give it their all for Sri Lanka and will surprise everyone at the World Cup this year. Their batting is full of Power hitters and also batters who know how to make big runs and their bowling is full of variety with right arm and left arm fast bowlers and All types of spinners as well.
