Priyanka Goswami was born on 10th March 1996. Her father is a bus conductor. The junior clerk at Indian Railways initially practiced gymnastics in school before her first attempt at athletics. She started running for the prize bag.

First Indian woman to win a CWG medal in the race walk event
Three-time national champion Priyanka clinched the historic silver medal in the women’s 10000m race walk event at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. She was the first Indian woman to win a medal in the race walk event at the Commonwealth Games.
Silver medal in the Asian Athletics Championships 2023
In the Asian Athletics Championships 2023 in Bangkok, Priyanka claimed a silver medal in the women’s 20km race walk event. She finished in fifth place at the Asian Games 2022.
Three national records
Priyanka holds national records in three road events: the women’s 10000m race walk, the women’s 10km race walk, and the women’s 20km race walk. Previously, she set a national record in the women’s 35km race walk event.

While the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifying standard for this event is 1 hour 29 minutes 20 seconds, she clocked 1:28:50 to win a gold medal.
Later, Priyanka secured an Indian Paris 2024 Olympics quota for the marathon race walk mixed relay event after she and her running partner Akshdeep Singh completed the race in 3:05:03 to finish in 18th place at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships 2024. In the Paris 2024 Olympics, Priyanka will partner with Suraj Panwar in the marathon race walk mixed relay event, while Akshdeep will only participate in the men’s 20km race walk event.
