The group stage draw of the Paris Olympic Women's Football Tournament 2024 was conducted on 20th March 2024. A total of 12 teams, divided into three groups, are set to participate in the competition. Due to France being the host, an additional team got the chance to represent Europe in the summer tournament while the rest maintained the limit of two teams per confederation. 10 teams have already qualified for the tournament with the two teams from Africa yet to be decided with the final round of the CAF qualifiers scheduled in April 2024.
Group A consists of hosts France, Copa America finalists Colombia, New Zealand and Canada, the Gold medalists of the previous edition. Further interesting ties will be played in Group B with record winners USA, under new manager Emma Hayes, taking on heavyweights Germany and Australia. The winner between Morocco and Zambia will join them later in the group. World Champions Spain will make their debut in the Olympics and will face the only side that beat them in the World Cup, Japan in Group C. Copa America winners Brazil are also in the group with either Nigeria or South Africa filling the last spot.
The Women's Football Tournament will begin on 25 July 2024 and end with the Gold medal match on August 10, 2024. The top two teams from each group and the two best third-place teams will qualify for the knockouts. The games will be played across seven venues in seven cities with Paris hosting the final. Lyon, Marseille, Nice, St-Etienne, Bordeaux and Nantes are the other places. The Women's Football Tournament will have no age restriction unlike the Men’s which is an U-23 competition.
