Singh secured the Indian quota in the marathon race walk mixed relay event for the
Paris 2024 Olympics.
It was the competition of the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships 2024 in Antalya on Sunday (21 April). It was a team relay format with one male and one female athlete for each nation. The full marathon distance of that event was 42.195km, with the man covering 12.195km, then the woman covering 10km, then the man covering another 10km, and finally, the woman covering the final 10km.

relay event is set to make its Summer Olympics debut at the Paris 2024
Olympics. During the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships 2024,
Priyanka Goswami and Akshdeep Singh finished in 18th place. While they clocked
3:05:03 to finish that race, they successfully made the cut for the Paris 2024
Olympics.
Munita Prajapati and Paramjeet
Singh were the other Indian pair in the World Athletics Race Walking Team
Championships 2024, and they finished in 35th place by clocking the race in
3:09:58.
Akshdeep
Singh was the first Indian athlete to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
During the National Open Race Walking Championships 2023, Akshdeep (1:19:55)
met the qualifying standard for the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning a gold medal
and setting up a new national record.
Meanwhile, Priyanka
Goswami was the first Indian female athlete to qualify for the Paris 2024
Olympics. She met the qualifying standard in the women’s 20km race walk event (1:28:50)
at the National Open Race Walking Championships 2023, where she won the gold
medal.
