Wanindu Hasaranga record second-best bowling figures in IPL history by an overseas spinner

The 24-year-old Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga recorded a five-wicket haul last Sunday (8th May) during a crucial IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Wankhede. While he won the Player of the Match award in that game, his bowling figures were the second-best bowling figures in IPL history by an overseas spinner.

During that 54th game of the IPL 2022, while RCB scored 192/3 in 20 overs after choosing to bat first, SRH replied with 125 all out in 19.2 overs. RCB won that match by 67 runs while their Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga had the bowling figures of 4-1-18-5.

In that second innings, Hasaranga dismissed Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Jagadeesha Suchith, Shashank Singh and Umran Malik respectively.

Now, we are talking about Hasaranga’s bowling figures of 4-1-18-5 status in various record books:
