The 22-year-old uncapped Indian right-arm fast bowler Umran Malik became the second youngest Indian and third youngest to take a five-wicket haul in IPL during SunRisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) meeting against Gujarat Titans (GT) at Wankhede Stadium last Wednesday (27th April) night.
It was the 40th game of the IPL 2022. While SRH managed to score 195/6 (20 overs) in the first innings, GT chased down the target on the final ball of the match after losing five wickets. Umran Malik took all the five wickets in that second innings, but his incredible hard work just went in vain.
Umran Malik had the bowling figures of 4-0-25-5
Apart from both the openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill, Malik also dismissed the captain Hardik Pandya, David Miller and Abhinav Manohar in that innings. Out of those dismissals, only Hardik’s dismissal was not bowled as he was caught out at the fine third man. Malik finished that innings with the bowling figures of 4-0-25-5.
