Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) thrashed many batting records during their recent IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The top records are definitely the highest opening partnership in IPL history along with becoming the first IPL team to bat full 20 overs without losing a wicket.
It was the 66th match of the IPL 2022, where LSG and KKR faced each other at DY Patil Stadium last Wednesday (18th May) night. After LSG chose to bat first, they scored 210/0 in 20 overs. In reply, KKR managed to score 208/8 in 20 overs. With that thrilling two-run win, LSG secured their spot for the playoffs of this IPL 2022.

Highest opening partnership in IPL history
Openers Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul set up the 210-run unbroken partnership for the first wicket. The previous IPL record for the highest opening partnership was 185 runs between the Sunrises Hyderabad openers Jonny Bairstow and David Warner against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Hyderabad (Deccan) on 31st March 2019.

Third highest partnership for any wicket in IPL
The 210-run unbroken opening partnership between Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul was also the third-highest partnership for any wicket in the IPL history. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricketers, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are holding the record for the top two IPL partnerships for any wicket with 229 runs (for 2nd wicket vs Gujarat Lions at Bengaluru on 14th May 2016) and 215 runs (for unbroken 2nd wicket vs Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on 10th May 2015).
Meanwhile, it was the fifth time in IPL history with a 200+ runs partnership for any wicket.

Fifth highest opening partnership in T20 cricket history
Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul’s unbroken first wicket partnership of 210 runs was also the fifth-highest opening partnership in T20 cricket history.

First IPL team to bat full 20 overs without losing a wicket
Lucknow SuperGiants became the first team to bat full 20 overs without losing a wicket in an IPL match.
It was the third time in overall T20 cricket when a team batted the full 20 overs without losing a wicket and scored 200+ runs. Lahore Whites were the first team to create that history with 209/0 in 20 overs against Islamabad at Rawalpindi on 24th November 2017. Most recently, Gibraltar became the first team in T20I history to play complete 20 overs without losing a wicket when they scored 213/0 in 20 overs against Bulgaria on 13th May 2022.
Joint Highest T20 score by a South African batter
Quinton de Kock’s unbeaten 140-run was not only the highest IPL score by a South African cricketer but it was also the joint highest T20 score by a South African batter. Previously, Peter Malan also scored 140 not out for Western Province against Eastern at Cape Town on 7th December 2014.
In the IPL, the previous highest individual score by a South African batter was 133 not out by AB de Villiers (Royal Challengers Bangalore) against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on 10th May 2015.
Third highest individual score in IPL history
South African cricketer Quinton de Kock’s 140 not out was also the third-highest individual score in the IPL history. The top two records in this list are RCB opener Chris Gayle’s 175 not out (vs Pune Warriors India at Bengaluru on 23rd April 2013) and KKR opener Brendon McCullum’s 158 not out (vs RCB at Bengaluru on 18th April 2008).
