IPL 2025 (Match 27): SunRisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings - Abhishek Sharma's Record Breaking Century Ends SRH Losing Streaks

The 27th match of the IPL 2025 was a high-scoring game, where Punjab Kings set a giant total against the hosts SunRisers Hyderabad, and the hosts chased down the target comfortably, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s powerful century, to register their important second win of the season, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Hyderabad once again produced a high-scoring match, where the bowlers had no power. After Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer chose to bat first, they recorded their second-highest total - 245/6 in 20 overs.


In reply, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma completely fired up against all the visiting bowlers. They had a powerful 171-run opening partnership in just 12.2 overs. While Head scored 66 off 37 balls with nine fours and three sixes, Shamra continued his powerful batting and only ended his innings after guiding the team to a secure winning position. 


SRH chased the target in 18.3 overs after losing two wickets (247/2), while Sharma scored 141 off 55 balls with the help of 14 fours and 10 sixes. Sharma played one of the greatest knocks in IPL history, and SRH recorded the second-highest successful chase in IPL history. 


Abhishek Sharma completed his century in 40 balls.

  • It was the third-highest score in IPL history.
