Anmolpreet Singh career story

Anmolpreet Singh was born on 28th March,1998. He was from Patiala, Punjab. He is a right handed batsman and bowls right arm off break. His father Satvinderpal Singh is a handball coach and an inspector with Punjab Police. His father had been the captain of the Indian Handball team. Anmolpreet was enrolled in a cricket coaching club at the age of five as he was very interested in this game. His brother Tejpreet Singh also plays cricket at a younger level.

In 2015, he had his debut against Odisha in a T20 match. He captained Punjab's U-19 team in the Cooch Behar Trophy and also scored 1154 runs in just 9 matches. This was an impressive performance by the youngster. After his impressive performance, he got selected into the U-19 Indian Cricket team for the 2016 U-19 Cricket World Cup. He contributed a lot for his team, especially a valuable fifty in the semis, against Sri Lanka.

In the 2014-15 Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament, he got to play only two matches. He did not get the scope to showcase his talents and skills. In the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, he finally got the opportunity as a replacement for Yuvraj Singh. It was a huge pressure situation for the youngster as he was replacing one of India's finest players of all time. Expectations will always be high on him. He scored a fifty on his debut which shows his maturity to handle pressure even though pressure is created upon him. He scored 267 runs against Chhattisgarh, which was only his third First class match, which showed his temperament. In that tournament, he scored 753 runs in just five matches. This was a good number to catch the eyes of the selectors and scouts across the country. Coming as a replacement and performing like this , is not such an easy task to do. His consistent performance got him into the Duleep Trophy team. He represented India Blue that year. In that same year, he got selected for India A in the 2018-19 Deodhar trophy. His impressive and consistent performance here resulted in him being selected for India 's tour of New Zealand. In 2018, Anmolpreet was bought by Mumbai Indians for his base price of 80 lakhs.

We all hope he can make it into the national team like his father did in handball.
