The new IPL team Gujarat Titans (GT) and the inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set for a historic final in the IPL 2022. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad is also ready to end this IPL 2022 season powerfully.

Both Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals have played powerful cricket in this entire IPL 2022 season. They were the top two teams in the final points table at the end of the league stage of this IPL season (GT 20 points; RR 18 points). Later, GT reached the final of this tournament after beating RR in Qualifier 1. RR secured the other spot in this forthcoming final after beating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Qualifier 2.

Jos Buttler has already hit four centuries in this IPL 2022. He is jointly holding the record of most centuries in an IPL season with the Indian star Virat Kohli, who also hit four centuries in IPL 2016 for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

With one more century in this IPL season, Buttler will become the first batter to hit five centuries in an IPL season. In this case, he will also equal the record of most IPL centuries with the Caribbean cricketer Chris Gayle (six centuries).

Before the IPL 2022, South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir was lonely holding the record of most wickets in an IPL season as a spinner with 26 wickets in IPL 2019 for Chennai Super Kings.

In this IPL 2022, Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (Rajasthan Royals) and Sri Lankan leggie Wanindu Hasaranga (Royal Challengers Bangalore) both are the joint-most wicket-takers with 26 wickets each.

In the IPL 2022 final, Chahal will have a great chance to become the lone record holder of the most wickets in an IPL season as a spinner with one more wicket in his account in this IPL season.

Yuzvendra Chahal (165 IPL wickets) is only two wickets away to surpass the senior leg-spinner Amit Mishra (166 IPL wickets) and become the most IPL wicket-taker as a spinner.

Then, only the Caribbean pacer Dwayne Bravo (183 IPL wickets) and Sri Lankan cricketer Lasith Malinga (170 IPL wickets) will have more IPL wickets than Chahal as the leg-spinner will also become the leading IPL wicket-taker as an Indian.

Ravichandran Ashwin (Rajasthan Royals) 

(Third most IPL wicket-taker as a spinner and fifth-most IPL wicket-taker overall)

Rajasthan Royals’ experienced Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is currently the joint fifth most wicket-taker in IPL history with another experienced Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla (both currently with 157 IPL wickets each).

Ashwin will surpass Chawla with one more wicket and become the third most IPL wicket-taker as a spinner. He will also become the third most IPL wicket-taker as an Indian and fifth-most IPL wicket-taker overall after that achievement.
