2016 winners will enter the IPL 2021 under the captaincy of once again David Warner. As far as the other teams are concerned SRH made it to all playoffs after the 2016 season but couldn't manage to taste the success of the IPL trophy again. While last year SRH campaign was started in a slow fashion but later they have made it to playoffs where they eventually lost to the best side Delhi capitals in the second qualifier of the season.

In this year's auction SRH has retained almost all their players while releasing few of them. From destructive batting to a strong bowling department, SRH are once again the favourites of the season already. So Sun risers Hyderabad will repeat the success of 2016 season under the captaincy of David Warner ahead of IPL 2021.

Having said, let us take a look at the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for SRH.

SunRisers Hyderabad Squad in IPL 2021

David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Shreevats Goswami, Wriddhiman Saha, Virat Singh, Priyam Garg, Mohammad Nabi, Vijay Shankar, Kedar Jadhav, Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Abhishek Sharma, Shahbaz Nadeem, Siddarth Kaul, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed, T Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma, Basil Thampi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jagadeesha Suchith.

Strengths – Sun risers Hyderabad strength is always their batting

The captain himself David Warner has won matches for SRH single handedly in the previous seasons and he will look to continue that form in the coming season too. With Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey SRH has enough experience in the batting order.

To strengthen the batting order, SRH has a long list of Indian domestic batsmen who will like to prove themselves ahead of IPL 2021. Shreevats Goswami, Wriddhiman Saha, Virat Singh and Priyam Garg the local talent, interesting to find who will make it to playing XI alongside destructive top-order batsman.

Weakness – Not having pinch-hitters and experience middle order batsman along with all-rounders

Looking at the current SRH team for the season, they don't have experienced middle order batsmen like their top-order players. Mostly the batting for SRH revolves around their top-order batsman so the pressure will be on the main batsman to score runs every time.

Even the release of players like Shakib Al Hasan would be a factor for SRH performance if they fail to qualify for the playoffs. Retaining young players is one thing but missing out players like Shakib Al Hasan who was once the part of SRH put a lot of pressure on Sun risers Hyderabad.

Opportunities – Opportunity for Local Talent to showcase their talent

Again it's time for players like Shreevats Goswami, Virat Singh, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Basil Thampi and Jagadeesha Suchith. With Mitchell Marsh unavailability, Sun risers Hyderabad will now have enough options to maximize the local talent for the success in IPL 2021.

Many local talents have made a name for themselves from this league earlier and with major tournaments and series coming up, players have the chance to prove themselves and strong the authority for the coming series.
