Ranking the 8 Teams Ahead of the 2nd Leg of IPL 2021

With IPL 2021 resuming in the UAE on September 19, cricket fans and lovers are super excited to see their favorite teams and players perform. Along with that, their assumptions on which team is going to win or lose have also begun coming.

With lots of replacements done in the teams for the second leg, people are finding it difficult to assume which team would win. The assumptions have become even more important as people choose their teams for tournaments held on the IPL fantasy league app to win. Thanks to the different genres of games, the Indian gaming industry is expected to grow to around $3.8 billion by 2024, as reported recently.

When they know which team and which player is going to perform the best, it becomes easier for them to choose cricketers who would turn out to be the best performers.

In fantasy cricket, gamers have to choose the players from the real-life teams of the matches to be currently held. Based on the performance of the chosen cricketers, they earn points. The points are directly proportional to the runs scored. And if your captain or vice-captain scores a good run, your score gets doubled or becomes 1.5 times of it, respectively.

Whether it is the points you earn in fantasy cricket IPL tournaments or the real IPL game, the victory or failure of a team depends on how players perform. This time, as already stated, teams have replaced some of the players given their injuries or other national commitments, hoping to win IPL 2021. However, the 1st leg of the season has indicated the teams that are more likely to win the title this time.

Depending on the consistent game and 1st leg performances of IPL teams, here is a list of 8 teams ahead and seem to be ahead on the leaderboard this season.

Delhi Capitals

By winning 6 out of 8 games in the first phase of the season, the team led by Rohit Pant is all set to break all the records. The team only requires another two wins to acquire the title this season. With the magical pair Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw, the team also has an all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who appeared to be one of the star players in IPL 2020. Terrific spins of Ashwin and Axar are expected to continue their charm in the second leg of the tournament as well.

Above all, DC had already shown its potential in the last IPL season by taking the immediate next position to Mumbai Indians.

Chennai Super Kings

When the ace himself is the captain, no one can underestimate the power of CSK. Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, the team has acquired the IPL titles multiple times. This has been the team that has performed extremely well in the first phase of the league. In fact, this is the team of all-rounders all set to rock the pitch one more time. With no replacements made for the second leg of IPL 2021, it still stands strong with its magical gang. With players like Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, etc. CSK has the most balanced team with excellent bowlers and amazing batsmen, all included.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Being open to including new players in the team, replacing the existing ones has been a significant trait of RCB. It offers a chance for new members to join the team to ensure it tries and tests the capabilities of all of them to filter the gems. RCB has some of the most expensive players included in the team, including Glenn Maxwell, Kyle Jamieson, and Daniel Christian. The first leg performance of the team has made us rank it third on our list.

Mumbai Indians

Winning five titles in multiple IPL seasons, they have become a team with one of the strongest players of all time. The team's greatest strength is Hardik Pandya, a good bowler, and a dangerous batsman. In case Pandya is unavailable for any reason, Kieron Pollard is the best replacement, as already been seen how the latter replaced the injured Pandya as 6th bowler in IPL 2020. With a gang of good bowlers and fielders, Mumbai Indians can easily restrict other teams' players from scoring higher runs.

Rajasthan Royals

Though the team did not do well in IPL 2020, it has already shown its preparedness to come back with a bang this time. With Chris Morris being one of the best performers, the team fully relies on his capabilities as he is good at batting and bowling. RR is expected to acquire the last spot in the top 5 teams for IPL 2021.

Punjab Kings

Given the inconsistent performance of PBKS, it is believed that the team would remain in the 6th spot. The major issue with the team is that it is unable to utilize the players' skills properly. The talented James Neesham could have been better utilized along with Krishnappa Gowtham, who required a couple of more games to prove his worth. For IPL 202, PBKS seems to have a gang of average players; hence finding a better spot on the leaderboard could be difficult.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Despite having one of the best teams, KKR hardly seems to impact the field in IPL 2021. There are players like Andre Russell and Sunil Narine who are real assets for the team. Still, the inconsistency and lack of coordination in the team and the lack of resource utilization might lead KKR to the second last position on the list.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

The team's position is expected to be the same as it was in IPL 2020. SRH retained its 22 players just before the auction, and this lack of coordination might lead to the team's loss once again. Hence, there are chances that the team will end up being at the last spot this season.

Of course, the ranking provided to the teams in the article is completely based on the consistency and current performance of the players. However, it would be interesting to see which team finally ends up winning IPL 2021 while which one gets left behind.
