As IPL is not hosting in all the venues in this year of IPL, Mumbai will definitely host more matches than usual so the home advantage again favours the Mumbai Indians to take maximum use of that conditions.
In the current line-up of MI they have the quality players either in top order or middle order who can once again play the defining role in the success of Mumbai Indians franchise. While retaining their best players, Mumbai Indians have brought the young players like Arjun Tendulkar, James Neesham and Marco Jansen to strengthen their line-up with the most dangerous bowling attack ever. Having said, let us take a look at Mumbai Indians squad, strengths and weakness ahead of IPL 2021.

Strengths – Once again Mumbai Indians expectations are from their batsman
Without any doubt, Mumbai Indians authority over IPL trophy once again or if they enter the season favourites it is all because of the kind of batting they have this time around in the 14th edition of the cash-rich league. The performance of the regular players and the kind of form they are carrying in recent times it will be difficult to stop the Mumbai Indians campaign this time around.
No doubt they have the back-up of the young players but they will find it difficult to make it to playing XI due to consistent performance of the team. From Chris Lynn to Ishan Kishan to Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard Mumbai Indians have quality pinch hitters to watch out for ahead of IPL 2021.
Weakness – Little instability in the top order
In the current line up of Mumbai Indians, it's difficult to find any weakness in the squad. But still they could strengthen their top order batsman with more overseas players in his cabinet. Looking at the current team, Rohit Sharma will open the innings with either Ishan Kishan or Quinton de kock. Although Ishan Kishan can bat at number also in case the team wants to open with Quinton de kock.
Apart from this in the middle order, Mumbai Indians has only Chris Lynn as the overseas player who usually open the innings for previous franchises in the IPL history. There are only Indian pinch hitters talent in the line-up in the form of Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya who can contribute with bat. With Kieron pollard already they could picked another player instead of keeping for one more Quinton de kock.
Player like David Miller or Glenn Maxwell might complete this line-up in every way but still preference given to Indian talent which is good move to provide opportunity to youngsters in the team.
