In IPL 2017 stokes was signed by Rising Pune Supergiant at a price tag of 14.5 crore. Pat Cummins also became the second most expensive player in the history of IPL after Yuvraj Singh. Yuvi was signed by Delhi Daredevils at a jaw-dropping price of 16 crore in 2015.

Australia’s limited over specialist Glenn Maxwell turned out to be second most expensive buy for this year’s IPL. He was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for a whopping 10.75 crore.
Maxwell recently took a break from international cricket because of his mental health issues. Maxwell previously represented Kings XI Punjab from 2014 to 2017. He played a huge role when Punjab emerged as a runner up in 2014 IPL season.

3. Chris Morris
Sold for: ₹10 crore
Franchise: Royal Challengers Bangalore
Chris Morris is the third most expensive player in this year’s IPL. Proteas speedster was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore at a big sum of 10 crore. He is also known for his hard hitting batting skills in the slog overs.
He didn’t had a good outing in Mzansi Super League. He managed to pick only 10 wickets from 11 games at an economy of 8.20 and scored 122 runs at a strike-rate of 176.

4. Sheldon Cottrell

Franchise: Kings XI Punjab
Sheldon Cottrell- a West Indies pacer was signed by Kings XI Punjab at a jaw-dropping price of 8.5 crore. He will be playing his first IPL season this year. He is known for his famous salute celebration after taking a wicket.

5. Nathan Coulter-Nile

Nathan Coulter-Nile an Aussie pacer was picked up by Mumbai Indians at a whopping price of 8 crore. He is returning to Mumbai Indians after a gap of 6 years.
