On the first day of the Asian Games 2023, Indian men secured three medals in the rowing events. India claimed one silver medal each in the Lightweight Double Sculls and Coxed Eight events. Meanwhile, the country also won the bronze medal in the Coxless Pair event.
Asian Games 2023: Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls – India won the silver medal
Partners Arvind Singh and Arjun Lal Jat helped India to win the silver medal in the men’s Lightweight Double Sculls event. While China won the gold medal (6:28:16s), Arvind and Arjun finished the event in 6:28:18s. On the other hand, Uzbekistan celebrated with the bronze medal (6:33.42s).
Asian Games 2023: Men’s Coxless Pair – India won the bronze medal
Meanwhile, Babulal Yadav and Lekh Ram shined with the bronze medal in the men’s Coxless Pair event. They ended the event after Hong Kong (6:44.20s) and Uzbekistan (6:48.11s) as their finishing timing was 6:50.41 seconds.
Asian Games 2023: Men’s Coxed Eight – India won the silver medal
In the men’s Coxed Eight final event, India finished in the second position to secure the silver medal. While China took 5:40.17 seconds to complete the event, India ultimately finished it in 5:43.01. In the meantime, Indonesia bagged the bronze medal with a timing of 5:45.51s.
Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar, Ashish, Neeraj, Naresh Kalwaniya, Neetish Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, and Dhananjay Pande were the members in the Indian Coxed Eight event.
