Anush Agarwalla, one of the key members and the top scorers in the history of creating Indian gold medallist equestrian team dressage at the Asian Games 2023, created another history for India in the 19th Asian Games. He became the first Indian individual to win an Asiad medal in the dressage event in the equestrian.
On September 26, Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Chheda, Divyakriti Singh, and Sudipti Hajela brought India’s first equestrian team dressage gold medal at the Asian Games.

In the individual dressage event on September 28, Anush won the bronze medal for India. It was India’s first Asiad equestrian medal in individual dressage. In the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2023, Anush, with his horse Etro, finished in the third position, behind Malaysian Qabil Ambak (horse Rosenstolz) and Hong Kong China’s Jacqueline Wing Ying Siu (horse Jockey Club Huittharien).
While the veteran Malaysian had a total score of 75.780, and Jacqueline had a total score of 73.450, Anush finished with 73.030. In both the technical and artistic events, Anush finished in the third position with scores of 69.900 and 76.160, respectively.
Although another Indian Hriday Chheda topped the qualification round in the individual dressage event on the previous day, he didn’t feature in the medal competition due to an early elimination.
