Twelve teams will battle in the 78th Senior National Football Championship Final Round for the Santosh Trophy set to begin on December 14, 2024, in Hyderabad, Telangana. Hosts Telangana, last edition’s runners-up Goa and champions Services and nine group winners i.e Jammu & Kashmir (Group A), Delhi (Group B), West Bengal (Group C), Manipur (Group D), Meghalaya (Group E), Odisha (Group F), Tamil Nadu (Group G) and Kerala (Group H) will participate in this round. They are divided into two groups with six teams with the top four from each group advancing to the quarter-finals. All matches until the quarter-finals will take place at the Deccan Arena.
Group A of the Final Round will be a spicy one, with the holders Services taking on record champions West Bengal, host Telangana, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, and Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the South-Indian rivalry will be reignited with seven-time winners Kerala taking on Tamil Nadu, previous edition’s finalists Goa, Delhi, Odisha, and Meghalaya in Group B. The quarterfinals will be played on December 26 and 27, 2024 followed by the semi-final. The 2024-25 Santosh Trophy final will be played in GMC Balayogi Stadium on the last day of the year. Services want to defend their trophy for the second time in their history whereas West Bengal are looking for their first silverware since 2016-17. Goa wants to replace their disappointment last time and Kerala has the opportunity to win a third title in five years while the rest are looking to cause a surprise.
