The twenty-eight years old Aakash Sangwan will be stepping up his role as a left footed positive left back in his first international debut against Vietnam as his impressive performances in the last two seasons for the Marina Machans (Chennaiyin FC) has taken the helm. In ISL 2024 season, He is with FC Goa. He is from the state (Haryana), which is not primarily a football based sport hub.

“The moment of hearing the announcement of my name in the national team is always special as everyone desires to play by dressing up in the blue jersey at least once in their lives. He also remarked “the experience so far has been unforgettable. I can see why most of these players have been a part of the national team for so long, everyone has more or less the same potential, dedication and self-confidence. They are well-aware about their abilities. I want to contribute actively to the nation as much as I can, whatever way possible, so that we can make the steps towards the right path. Just over a week ago, I was stunningly astonished, seeing my name on the flight to Vietnam. It made me a little bit confused. Then gradually I could discover my-self comfortably and started enjoying the golden moment. All these were culminated through the adoration and persuasion”.
Aakash has also narrated one of his most precious days of his life by saying that
“Well, someone sent me a congratulatory text and I could not locate the purpose of that wish. When I found my-self available on the internet then, I witnessed the list of the probable and got the assurance why the texts are constantly scrolling on the screen of my handset.
The point should be kept in mind that Sangwan’s gateway to Manolo Marquez’s team India side is not phenomenal for the numerous fans of the ‘Blue Tigers’. While telling his last two years’ experiences in the Indian Super League, Aakash said
“This short-lived success of mine was not an easy task to me. The competitive presence of my seniors and batch mates like: Subhasis Bose, Akash Mishra, Jay Gupta and Naorem Roshan Singh at the same position in the last year, has acquainted me with the level of India’s top most elite league. Day to day, I engage myself in maintaining the form, precision and individual creativity as the continuous process of survival strategy significantly exists in the green field as well”.
When he was asked about his adjustment in the team, he replied
“The environment or the atmosphere is not new to me. I am going to behave with the same head coach and most of the coaching staff of my current ISL Club FC Goa are accompanying me”.
It would have become easier for me as most of us are considered to me as my room sharer or my opposition club”. Beside this, Sangwan heaps huge praise on his coaching staff. The honesty and directness of them have made him engrossed. Even after getting a crucial opportunity to give his best into the prestigious blue jersey

Ranjit sir’s Minerva Punjab FC has remarkably helped to make the debut of my professional football career. As far as I can remember, in the last season when I was preparing myself for pitching up the ground against the stalwarts Mohun Bagan Supergiant, Gaffer told me not to be afraid, desolate against the opponent, whoever it is, you should reach the success. And that match my former team Chennaiyin FC defeated them by 2-3 in a packed Salt Lake stadium”.
In addition to this he elucidated
“I am feeling very proud of my professional debut in the 2017-18 I-League as the historicity of the season came to me by badging the championship for Minerva FC. It was the first major trophy of my footballing career. Finally, I want to give a special thank to my father who always used to keep my focus on physical fitness and the sacrificed football journey of my eldest brother led to my obstinate dream”.
