A crucial top-of-the-table clash in ISL between leaders Odisha FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant ended scoreless but full of action. Both teams created a lot of chances and could call themselves unlucky not to take all three points from the match. The home side continues to lead the points chart while the visitors, who slipped to third after Mumbai City’s win on Friday, failed to close up the two-point gap.
Mohun Bagan began strongly with Armando Sadiku getting early opportunities to put his side in front. In a one-and-one chance with Amrinder Singh, the Albian failed to keep his shot on target before forcing a save from the keeper with a first-time shot after Sahal Samad won the ball in midfield. Odisha FC grew into the game and had a chance to take the lead close to half-time but Diego Mauricio could only manage to hit the crossbar. In the second half too, Roy Krishna and the substitute Jason Cummings came close to breaking the deadlock, however, the fate of the match was sealed.
