Prior moving onto the international break, the Albanian international Armando Sadiku and the Spanish Central midfielder Borja Herrera are jointly in the race of golden boot for ongoing ISL season 2024-25. In the last match against Emami East Bengal FC (played in the Iconic Saltlake Stadium, Calcutta) the Spanish magician succeeded his first brilliant hattrick for the tournament as well. In yesterday's thrilling match, Borja Brought FC Goa back into the game in its home match against North East United FC, the tussle was concluded in 3-3. However, after associating his name with the current top scorer in ISL 2024-25, Borja was quite silent. He remarked that "It is my duty to give my best onto the field whether it is home or away. I want to give a special thanks to my coach as he keeps his faith in my performance constantly. When I used to play in the Jersey of Red and Gold brigade, I had won the Super cup in Kalinga, that achievement was one of my heartiest in my football career". The point should be noted that after winning the Kalinga Super Cup the EB management released him and he joined FC Goa. In the last ISL season Borja played a pivotal role to lead his team into the last four. But, unfortunately his team couldn't resist Mumbai City to reach the final.
While on the other hand the former Green and Maroon Striker Sadiku also reached the same level as his teammate Borja did. By scoring his second goal against the Highlanders, he has desperately engraved his name beside the current top scorer of the ongoing Indian football festival. In the last season, the Indian football fans witnessed Sadiku's charismatic performance in favor of Mohun Bagan Super Giant. The 33-year- old Albanian international left Green and Maroon fans and has started a new football journey in FC Goa's Jersey. Class, quality and individual brilliance of him has already been shined for MBSG. The former Albanian Youth under-19 and Under-21 has started demonstrating his rhythmic striking prose, as he kept his presence 270 minutes for the Gaurs in 3 matches, made his 15 touches in the attacking third, targeted 6 shots to find the back of the net. Even, he was adjudged with his nation's top goal scorer Sokol Cikaleshi. After snatching a crucial point against the North-East United FC, the man with 12 international goals stated that "We are a little disappointed, but we show character and we keep going". Apart from them, Alaeddine Ajarine (another Moroccan rising star in the Indian football circuit ) has stunningly leveled up to 4 goals.
The most significant scenario of this ISL season 2024-25 is the individual foreigners of each franchise stepping forward towards the aim of getting the Golden Boot of the Super League. The path-way of Sunil Chetri, Noah Sadaoui, Diego Mauricio is boosting up the top goal scorers' contest.
