India Senior Women’s Team’s head coach Langam Chaoba Devi named a 23-member final squad from a 30-player provisional list for the friendlies against Uzbekistan on Monday, May 27, 2024. The team will travel to the Uzbek capital on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. This is the second FIFA window of the year that AIFF is utilizing for the women’s team. After a forgetful 2023, the women’s team has started this year on a decent note with two wins and a narrow defeat in the three games so far. The Blue Tigress will be travelling to a familiar location having played the Turkish Women’s Cup in February. The quadrangular tournament involved Estonia, Hong Kong and Kosovo with India finishing runners-up after losing the decider 1-0 against the latter by conceding a last-minute goal.
