The 2021/22 Hero I league season is set to begin on the boxing day, 26th December 2021. There is an increase of teams participating this season from 11 to 13 after the introduction of two new teams. Sreenidhi Deccan is the latest club to join the league while Rajasthan United became the first-ever club to represent the state in the tier. Another club, Kenkre FC joins the fold after Chennai City FC withdrew for this campaign. Gokulam Kerala FC are the defending champions.
The league is once again being played at a centralised venue in Kolkata inside a bio bubble this season. Three grounds are selected for the games - Kalyani Stadium, Naihati and the iconic Mohun Bagan ground. Here is the full fixture calendar of the 2021/22 season:
