India Women set a new history by winning the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 on Wednesday (20 November) night. The hosts beat China Women by 1-0 to win the trophy for the third time, the joint record for the most successful trophy journey in tournament history.


India Women, who won all the matches of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024, scored the solitary goal of the match in the 31st minute. Deepika Sehrawat scored the only goal of the final match.


Deepika Sehrawat finished the tournament as the Best Player after scoring the most goals in the tournament with 11 goals, including five goals against Thailand Women in the 13-0 win at the league stage.

Key stats and facts of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024

The 20-year-old India Women’s forward Deepika Sehrawat became the first player in the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy history to score more than 10 goals in a single edition. She finished the tournament with 11 goals.


South Korea Women is the only team to play in the finals in all three Women’s Asian Champions Trophy editions where they hosted (2010, 2018, and 2021). India Women have hosted it twice and won both (2023 and 2024).


India Women now hold records for most Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Finals. They have played it five times (three champions and two runners-up), while South Korea Women (three champions and one runners-up) and Japan Women (two champions and two runners-up) both have played four times each.


In the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy history, India Women hold the joint most successful record. It was India Women’s third trophy (2016, 2023, and 2024) as they became the second team to win the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy three times. South Korea Women achieved it in the 2018 edition (2010, 2011, and 2018).


India Women became the second team to win the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy in two successive editions by winning it in the 2023 and 2024 editions. South Korea Women were the first team to record it by winning the trophy in the first two editions (2010 and 2011). India Women also became the second team to win the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy twice at home (2023 and 2024). South Korea Women recorded it in the 2010 and 2018 editions.


China Women is the only team to play in the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Finals thrice but finished without any trophy successes.


India Women conceded only two goals in this tournament. This is the joint record for the fewest goals conceded by the champions in tournament history. Japan Women also conceded two goals while winning the 2013 edition. However, they played only four games, including the final. Meanwhile, India Women played five league stage matches and two knockouts, including the final, in the 2024 edition.


India Women scored 29 goals, a new record for most goals by a team in a single edition of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy history. The next record is 27 goals by India Women (2023) and China Women (2024) once each.


China recorded the biggest margin victory in the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy history by beating Thailand Women by 15-0 in their tournament opener of the 2024 edition.


On the other hand, India Women thrashed Thailand Women by 13-0 in this tournament. They became the only team to record a 10+ goals winning margin more than once in the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy history. Previously, India started the 2021 edition with a 13-0 win against Thailand Women.
