There is a lot of talk about the drivers and rightfully so because they are the ones who provide all the glory and the fans but there are the constructors that work behind the scenes and all the drivers are a team of 2 in a particular constructor. The Constructors Championship is also given much importance in the Formula 1 calendar.
Since the past few years there have been 3 Constructors that have been among the favorites to win the title and so in this article the Top 3 will only be talked about.
So, let’s look at the biggest contenders for the Constructors Championship this coming Formula 1 season:
Red Bull
Red Bull are the latest winners of the Constructors Championship and they won by a big margin in the 2022 season as both their drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were among the Top 3 drivers of the year. Max Verstappen was the champion so that added a lot of points to Red Bull and Sergio Perez was 3rd by a whisker so he also added points to Red Bull. The car that the drivers use in the races is provided by the constructor so it is a team effort by everyone that results in wins in races. This season as well Red Bull will be among the top contenders to win the Constructors Championship as their cars will only get better and so will their drivers.
Mercedes
The Constructors Championship has been won by Mercedes many times recently and it was not till last year that their streak was broken. They had some of the best drivers driving for them including the best ever in Lewis Hamilton who has been them for many years and other than him they had Valteri Bottas for a few years and then last season they got the very talented George Russell and both the drivers were in the Top 6 and so this year Mercedes will come back stronger and challenge Red Bull for the title this year.
Ferrari
Perhaps the team that has disappointed the most is the Ferrari team as in the 2022 season they had everything going for them as they had the best cars and 2 young drivers who were in form and raring to go but still they could not win the championship last year. However that does not mean they will not be contenders this year as well as they will have learnt their lessons from the 2022 season and both their drivers Charles Leclerc who finished 2nd and Carlos Sainz who finished 4th will look to do much better this coming season. Ferrari will be coming with a bang.
