Hungarian Grand Prix 2023 Results

It was yet another race weekend at Formula 1 and this time the venue was Hungary and this was a very important and a potentially historic race in Formula 1 history and this race was long and the fans were packed in with numbers to see their favorite drivers battle it out and the race was a very interesting one. This race would result in one team making history and one team showing that they are much better now than they were a few months ago.


So, let’s look at the Results of the Hungarian F1 Grand Prix:


Race Results


The race started and It was a very exciting start as Max Verstappen took the lead of the race and Lewis Hamilton got the worst possible start as both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri got to P2 and P3 at the start of the race. Lap 3 and both the Alpine drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly are forced to retire from the race in the worst possible start for Alpine. Lap 8 and Lewis Hamilton is 1.6 seconds behind Lando Norris and he is struggling. Lap 10 and Sergio Perez goes to P7 and Carlos Sainz should be easy to get by. Zhou Guanyu has had the worst race possible. It is Lap 14 and Max Verstappen is already 5.5 seconds ahead and he can plan his race accordingly.

Lap 18 and Lando Norris pits and comes out ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri also pits but is behind his teammate Lando Norris. It is Lap 22 and Lando Norris hits the fastest lap of the race and Lewis Hamilton is shocked that both the McClaren drivers are 9 seconds ahead. Lap 27 and Oscar Piastri is having a great race as he is 11 seconds ahead and is eyeing his first podium finish and Sergio Perez is at P6 as he slowly gets ahead in the race. It is Lap 31 and news comes in that Esteban Ocon is being treated and Sergio Perez gets the fastest lap of the race. Lap 34 and Lewis Hamilton is under pressure from Sergio Perez and he is eyeing podium finish from P9

It is Lap 42 and a top battle is going out between Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton and both of them are giving it their all and it is amazing to see. Lap 43 and Sergio Perez gets the fastest pit stop of the season at 1.9 seconds and after that pit stop Sergio Perez is only 1.7 seconds behind Lewis Hamilton. Lap 45 and Lando Norris is ahead of Oscar Piastri by a long distance and back to back podiums look good for the McClaren driver. It is Lap 47 and Charles Leclerc has been told that he is speeding on the pit lane. Lap 48 and Sergio Perez is at P4 and is having fantastic drive and he will get to P3 by the end of this race. Lap 51 and Max Verstappen pits and he comes out 13 seconds ahead and looks good for yet another win.

Lap 59 and Lewis Hamilton gets past Oscar Piastri and is in 4th place and he looks good for P4 and Oscar Piastri has to settle for 5th place. It is Lap 62 and Lando Norris is feeling the pressure from Sergio Perez and he curses for the other drivers to get out of his way. Lap 65 and an engrossing battle goes on for P2 and Lando Norris is 3.5 seconds ahead but Perez is closing in. Lap 66 and Carlos Sainz gets to P7 in the race and Charles Leclerc is 5.9 seconds ahead of him and Charles Leclerc has a 5 second Penalty as well. The race is over and Max Verstappen wins the race and Red Bull team win 12 races on the trot which is an all time Formula 1 record. Lando Norris has another great drive to get to P2 but the driver of the day was Sergio Perez who finished P3 starting from P9.
