Here's an overview of Aston Martin's involvement in Formula One up until my last knowledge update in September 2021:

1959-1960:

Aston Martin made its first official entry into Formula One in 1959. The team used a car known as the Aston Martin DBR4, which featured a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine. However, the team's performance was relatively limited, and they withdrew from Formula One after the 1960 season due to financial difficulties.

2020:

After a long absence from the sport, Aston Martin announced its return to Formula One in 2020. The team was initially known as "Racing Point," having taken over the assets of the financially struggling Force India team. The team was rebranded as "BWT Racing Point F1 Team."

2021:

In 2021, the team retained its identity as "Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team" following the acquisition of the team by a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin Lagonda. The team continued to use Mercedes engines and technical components.

Drivers:

For the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the team's drivers included Sergio Pérez and Lance Stroll. In 2021, Sebastian Vettel, a four-time world champion, joined the team as well.

Performance:

In its comeback season in 2020, Racing Point showed competitive performance, securing a race win at the Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain, courtesy of Sergio Pérez. In 2021, under the Aston Martin name, the team aimed to build upon its performance and compete for podiums and higher championship standings.

It's worth noting that the situation in Formula One can change rapidly due to factors such as team ownership, sponsorship agreements, and regulations. As a result, there may have been developments in Aston Martin's involvement in Formula One since my last update in September 2021. For the most current and accurate information, I recommend checking official Formula One sources or news outlets.
