Dutch Grand Prix 2023 Results

The Dutch F1 Grand Prix was the first that was held after the 4 week summer break and this was one of the best races of the last few years. This race made up for all the other boring races this season and the rain has to be thanked for the same. This was a long race of 72 laps which makes it one of the longest races of the year. All the 100,000 fans in attendance were there for 1 man and he is Max Verstappen.

Race Results


The race kicked off in style as the rain was pouring down and the drivers avoided colliding and Fernando Alonso was at P2. Lap 2 and the race has gone crazy as Sergio Perez leads the race with his intermediate tyres. Lap 8 and the intermediate tyres are the way to go in this race. It is lap 10 and Max Verstappen has closed the gap to Sergio Perez to just 5 seconds. Lap 11 and Oscar Piastri got the fastest lap of the race and he was 5 seconds better than Sergio Perez. Lap 13 and Max Verstappen gets the lead of the race and everyone can breathe. It is Lap 16 and Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly are fighting for P4 and George Russell is in P18 after starting from P3.

Lap 25 and Max Verstappen gets a second lead over Sergio Perez and Oscar Piastri has 2 great overtakes as he gets past Valteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc In 2 laps. Lap 27 and Max Verstappen is 3 seconds ahead of Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso is in P3 giving pressure to Sergio. It is Lap 32 and Charles Leclerc is having a disaster on the track as he is on P15 and Carlos Sainz is doing well in P5. Lap 39 and Yuki Tsonuda, Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton are in a battle for P8-P10 and Yuki Tsonuda is doing well. Liam Nawson who is making his debut overtakes Charles Leclerc but he gets back his position immediately after. Lap 44 and Charles Leclerc is out of the race after Logan Sargeant and his horror day comes to an end.

Lap 50 and Fernando Alonso goes to the pits but it is a terrible stop from Aston Martin and Carlos Sainz gets to P3. Lap 52 and the rain Threat is looming again as things could get interesting. It is Lap 54 and Fernando Alonso uses his experience to get past Carlos Sainz to go to P3. Lap 56 and Yuki Tsonuda is not doing so well and the team is keeping him on soft tyres as heavy rain is approaching. Lap 57 and Alexander Albon gets past Russell to get to P6 and Lewis Hamilton gets to P9. Lap 61 and Pierre Gasly gets to P4 and he is having the race of his Life. Lap 62 and the rain has arrived and half the drivers are going to the pits as Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso stay on the track for now.

Lap 64 and the rain is very heavy and there is a yellow flag as Sergio Perez goes off on corner one. The Red Flag is out and the race has stopped because the rain is very heavy. After a 40 minutes delay the race has restarted and an exciting last 8 laps are left. It is lap 67 and Fernando Alonso is putting pressure on Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez gets a 5 second Penalty for overspeeding in the pit. It is Lap 69 and Lewis Hamilton is trying to get to P5. Lap 71 and Pierre Gasly is driving his best to be under 5 seconds. The race is over and Max Verstappen wins his 9th race in a row which equals Sebastian Vettel from 2013. Fernando Alonso is P2 and Pierre Gasly finishes his best in P3.
