Max Verstappen is the 3 time reigning World Formula 1 Champion and he will go into the 2024 F1 season as the firm favorite to win his 4th successive World Championship. Max Verstappen has already become a superstar and he is getting towards legend status even at such a young age. Max Verstappen had dominated the 2023 Season unlike anyone has before in the history of the sport in a single season and he would want to only get better. No driver could really challenge him for the top spot but there were some drivers who could challenge him next season.

Charles Leclerc will always be in the list of challengers as he is one of the top drivers in Formula 1. He has been driving for Ferrari for a number of seasons and 2023 was not a great season for him but as he is so young, he can easily come back next season and win his first World Championship. He needs to win because Ferrari have been one of the best teams in the history of Formula 1. And there is a personal history between these 2 drivers as well that they are not good friends either. Carlos Sainz is also putting pressure on him to be the lead driver of Ferrari.

Lando Norris
The other young driver that could challenge Max Verstappen next season is Lando Norris from McClaren. He has had his best season yet and he had a number of P2 finishes just behind Max Verstappen in 2023. He and McClaren would be feeling great after the season he had and they would want to give him a much improved car next season so that he can challenge for the World Championship in 2024. His teammate Oscar Piastri is still a few years away from getting to the level of Max Verstappen.
George Russell
This young driver from Mercedes has a bright future in Formula 1 and with Lewis Hamilton in his final years in Formula 1, it is time for George Russell to take the lead in Mercedes and take center stage. He, like the other 2 drivers in this list, had a good season and he and Mercedes would want to have a much better 2024 and if the car is good then he could even challenge Max Verstappen for the title. George Russell is part of this newer generation of drivers. Mercedes also needs to treat him like he is their main driver and the man who would lead Mercedes just like Lewis Hamilton did for a number of years.
Sergio Perez
The other Red Bull driver has to be in this list because he is the teammate of Max Verstappen and he was in the Top 3 for Drivers this year as well. He did not have a great season and his ineffective season meant that Max Verstappen had ho challenge even from his teammate. Sergio Perez is on thin ice because if he does not have a good 2024 season then he might lose his seat. He needs to be back better than ever and drive like his Formula 1 career depends on it. He has to challenge Max Verstappen in all the races next season.
