There was rain forecast for the race and the rain played a part in this race. The race started and George Russell got a good start followed by Max Verstappen at P2. The 2 McClaren drivers were P3 and P4. The wet tyres which were used by Kevin Magnussen paid off as he came to P8. More rain arrived and Kevin Magnussen zoomed to P5 thus showing that the Haas team played a masterstroke. Kevin Magnussen got past Oscar Piastri and he reached the P4. The Ferrari drivers were having a bad day as both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were not in the points. George Russell was ahead of Max Verstappen by 1.2 seconds and Lando Norris was 6 seconds behind. It was Lap 15, Max Verstappen was chasing George Russell. By Lap 20, Lando Norris was in the lead of the Canada Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen got past George Russell and he was in P2. Lap 29 and Charles Leclerc pitted and he was having a bad day. The race was restarted after the yellow flag and Max Verstappen was in P1 ahead of George Russell. It was Lap 40 and George Russell was trying his best to get the lead and the rain was fading away. Pierre Gasly pitted for hard tyres and this was the start of a chain reaction as Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez pitted for medium tyres. At Lap 47, Lando Norris pitted and Max Verstappen just got ahead of Lando Norris and got to P1. George Russell lost his P2 position and Toto Wolff was angry. Lando Norris was heading for another Top 2 finish. Sergio Perez had a horrible race aa he was forced to retire and join Charles Leclerc and Logan Sargeant to have retired.


The safety car was deployed again and George Russell and Lewis Hamilton pitted for mediums. Max Verstappen and Lando Norris were clear in P1 and P2. There was a tight finish in the remaining places. At Lap 64, George Russell and Oscar Piastri collided and Lewis Hamilton was the one who took advantage. At Lap 67, George Russell got past Oscar Piastri and was close to his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen won the race and he was followed by Lando Norris at P2. George Russell was P3 and Lewis Hamilton was P4. Oscar Piastri was P5.
