Formula 1 was back after a 3 week Summer break and so are we with another Grand Prix Results article and this time it was one of the most iconic circuits which is The Spa and this was one of those races when Chaos was at its best and we saw one of the best performances all year by the winner of this race. Last year the Belgian Grand Prix was a bad one when only 1 lap was able to be held but this time the full 44 laps took place and Formula 1 was back in all its glory.
Before we get into the actual results I want to just admire Max Verstappen and his skills as they are the best in the world and something really special and no other driver in the race is on his level and it now almost looks certain that Max Verstappen will win the F1 World Championship this year making it 2 in a row for the Dutch driver. Let’s get to the results of the Grand Prix now.
The Races
Before we talk about the race I have to mention that a lot of the drivers were starting from the back of the grid as they had penalties against their name and those included Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc among others. The race started and in Lap 1 Carlos Sainz took a lead ahead of Sergio Perez who was in P2 and Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton were involved in an accident which sent Lewis out of the race and there was chaos and there was a need for a safety car. In Lap 2 Nicholas Latifi and Valteri Bottas were involved in an accident and Bottas was out of the race as well. By Lap 5 Max Verstappen was up in 6th place from the 14th he started the race in. It's Lap 9 of the race and Max Verstappen is in 3rd place which is stunning. By Lap 12 Max Verstappen is at the lead of the Grand Prix.
Its Lap 18 and officially Max Verstappen leads the Spa Grand Prix and there is action going on everywhere in the race. Lap 21 and Sergio Perez is in 2nd place and Red Bull are 1-2 in this race. At Lap 33 Lewis Hamilton conceded that the collision with Fernando Alonso was his fault and Max Verstappen looks good to win this Race now. Lap 35 and Carlos Sainz is just 4 seconds ahead of Georgia Russell and there is a scramble for 7th place. Lap 42 and the battle for Third place is heating up as there is only 2 seconds between George Russell and Carlos Sainz. Lap 44 and Max Verstappen wins the race with Sergio Perez at 2 and Carlos Sainz at 3. It was a Max Verstappen Masterclass.
