The latest Grand Prix was held in Austria which is also known as the Red Bull ring and here the favorite was Max Verstappen because he had already won 4 times here before and the weekend was action packed to say the least. This was an important race for all the drivers and all the teams. And the results were predictable to say the least.
So, let’s have a look at the Results of Austria F1 Grand Prix 2023:
Race Results
The race starts and Max Verstappen just about manages to take the lead as Charles Leclerc tries to get past him and the safety car is out as Yuki Tsonuda faces damage in the first lap. Lap 4 and the safety car Is gone and the race starts yet again. It is Lap 6 and Max Verstappen gets the fastest lap of the race and is 1.2 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc and Followed by Sainz, Hamilton, Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso. Lap 10 and the 2 Ferrari cars are having an intense race but Carlos Sainz is not allowed to go past Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez is in P11. Lap 14 and Lewis Hamilton has already received two flags for exceeding track limit. Nico Hulkenberg is out of the race with an engine issue and the virtual safety car is out.
Lap 16 and the Virtual safety car is over and everyone has pitted except the 2 Red Bull drivers. Lewis Hamilton gets the first penalty of the race for exceeding the track limit too many times in Lap 18. And in Lap 20 , Yuki Tsonuda gets a 5 second penalty for exceeding track limits and Carlos Sainz has gone past Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton for P4. In Lap 21, Carlos Sainz is in P3 as he gets past Sergio Perez and in the middle of the track Alexander Albon, Esteban Ocon, Kevin Magnussen and Lance Stroll are having a great race. Lap 23 and it is a great battle between Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton and now Esteban Ocon gets a 5 second penalty. Lap 26 and Max Verstappen gets past Carlos Sainz in P2. Lap 27 and Lando Norris gets past Lewis Hamilton for P4 and Carlos Sainz gets a 5 second Penalty. Lap 33 and Max Verstappen is chasing down Charles Leclerc and the race has got interesting.
Lap 35 and Max Verstappen leads again In the race as he overtakes Charles Leclerc. It is lap 37 and in just 2 laps Max Verstappen has got a 3 second gap ahead of Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso is pushing Lewis Hamilton for P4. Lap 40 and Alexander Albon gets a 5 second penalty as well. In Lap 45 and 25 Laps left it us looking another easy win for Max Verstappen. Lap 52 and Sergio Perez pits for the last time and he gets out in P5 and is looking good for a podium finish. It is Lap 55 and Max Verstappen has a 16 second lead and a 5th win at this track is surely here. It is lap 57 and Sergio Perez gets past Lando Norris in P4.
Sergio Perez finally takes the P3 spot from Carlos Sainz after an epic battle worthy of a podium fight and finally Perez is in the podium. Lap 64 and Max Verstappen leads by 22 seconds to Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez is in P3. Lap 68 and Charles Leclerc has done very well to deny Red Bull a 1-2 finish in the Red Bull ring. Lap 70 and Max Verstappen pits for soft tyres for the fastest lap of the race and he wins yet again like has been the case this season.
