The last race of the year is in the books and it was held in Abu Dhabi. This was the last race In a season dominated by one man and there were other drivers who were young and who made a mark this season and their future in Formula 1 is bright. This season has the most races in a season with 22 races and next year it will be 24 races as the demand for Formula 1 has been growing every year. However there are only a limited number of races that can be added.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023 Results
The race started with Max Verstappen in the lead and it was a clean start and Charles Leclerc was in second place. Lap 3 in the race and Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are the Top 2 and Oscar Piastri is P3 and all 3 are very close. Lap 5 and Lando Norris gets past Oscar Piastri and is now in P3 and George Russell is pushing for P4. It is just Lap 7 and Kevin Magnussen has had to change tires. It is Lap 9 in the race and Oscar Piastri is holding off George Russell for now and Sergio Perez is trying to get to P8. By Lap 12 George Russell gets past Oscar Piastri for P4 after a bit of a fight. Lap 17 of the race and Lewis Hamilton hits the back of Pierre Gasly and both men suffer damage as a result. It is Lap 19 and Yuki Tsonuda is leading the Grand Prix and it is only the second time in history that a Japanese driver is leading an F1 Race.
Lap 21 and something weird happens as Esteban Ocon overtakes his teammate Pierre Gasly and this was strange for everyone to see. Yuki Tsonuda has the lead for 4 laps and by Lap 23 he pits and Max Verstappen regains the lead of the race. Sergio Perez gets the fastest lap of the race at P8. By Lap 28 in the race Max Verstappen is getting ahead of Charles Leclerc and George Russell is closing in on P3. Sergio Perez is having a great race as he is now in P5 by overtaking Oscar Piastri who has had bad form during the race. It was Lap 36 of the race and both Charles Leclerc and George Russell pitted but Charles Leclerc got ahead of Russell in P2. By Lap 39 and Lewis Hamilton got past Fernando Alonso but by Lao 40 Fernando Alonso retakes his spot.
Carlos Sainz gets to P9 by Lap 41 and this would mean that Ferrari would finish second in the constructors Championship by 1 point. Fernando Alonso gets past Carlos Sainz in Lap 46. At Lap 48, Sergio Perez and Lando Norris collided but no damage to either car and in Lap 49, Sergio Perez was in P4 and could end up on the podium. By Lap 51, Max Verstappen leads the race by 9 seconds and is looking good for his 19th win of the season. Sergio Perez gets a 5 second Penalty in Lap 52 of the race. Max Verstappen wins the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and his 19th race of the season. He also became the first driver in history to lead for 1000 Laps in a single Formula 1 season.
