Before we break it to you, YES Ousmane Dembele has got himself injured again, this time for a long gap of 6 months. A hamstring injury has sidelined the French winger and he will be missing the rest of the season as well as the Euro 2020. He had only 9 appearances this season for the Blaugranas. Since joining in 2017 as a replacement for Neymar, he has been suffering from injuries on and off and that has hampered his growth in the long term.

In a recent turn of events, Barcelona may sign Real Sociedad striker, Willian Jose out of the transfer window in what appears to be a case not many have heard before. Jose has scored 53 goals in 132 appearances for Sociedad. Barcelona had made an application under Spanish regulations to sign a replacement for Dembele and as per recent reports, they have been granted permission to do the same. The principles state they can acquire somebody from another domestic league club as a replacement if a player endures damage and faces a time-out of more than four months. As indicated by the guidelines, Barcelona should finish any agreement to get a replacement for Dembele within a fortnight.

Barcelona was getting a handle on for some sliver of uplifting news this week after their Sporting Director clashed with their best player ever, they smashed out of the cup, and their second most expensive record-breaking signee, Ousmane Dembele, was side-lined for the remainder of the period. Standing at 74 appearances, there have only been ten 90-minute appearances. 19 goals and 17 assists in 3 seasons isn’t that really good a record for a talent of Dembele’s level. Plenty of promise but only constant disappointment.

Ousmane Dembele’s long time practices of eating junk food and unprofessionalism have taken a toll on his growth as well. It was reported that a personal chef was assigned to Dembele on his arrival at Camp Nou to make him do away with the habit, but he was generally unresponsive in taking greater care of his diet and lifestyle which is needed when one dreams of thriving at this level. On many occasions, he has been seen missing team practices citing injuries and stomach bugs only to be located at his home in France. 'We have all been young and we have all made mistakes. I am convinced he will improve,' Pique had said to a reporter in 2018, but the patience cannot be the same over time.

To sum it all up, Dembele hasn’t improved quite a lot since 2017 and if Barcelona manages to re-sign Neymar or Adama Traore and decides to put their trust in new recruit Trincao, Dembele might have to settle somewhere else.
