Lamine Yamal made more history as Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 La Liga season with a 3-1 victory over Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Sevilla took an early lead through Youssouf Fofana, but Raphinha quickly equalised before completing a hat-trick with two second-half goals. Yamal played a decisive role, providing two assists for Raphinha as Barcelona secured their seventh consecutive league victory.

While Raphinha grabbed the headlines with his sensational hat-trick, Yamal also had a historic night.
The Spanish teenager has now provided 51 assists in 159 appearances for Barcelona across all competitions, reaching another remarkable milestone at an extraordinary age. He is now the youngest La Liga player to reach 50 assists since at least the 2013/14 season, achieving the feat at just 19 years and 68 days old.
Yamal's achievement means he has surpassed the previous record held by Vinicius Júnior.
The Real Madrid winger reached his 50th assist for the club in May 2023, but he was 22 years and 298 days old at the time. Yamal therefore broke the record more than three years younger than his Brazilian rival.
It is another extraordinary addition to a growing list of records for the Barcelona wonderkid.
Yamal and Raphinha's Barcelona Partnership
The performance also highlighted the growing chemistry between Yamal and Raphinha.
The Brazilian was unstoppable in front of goal, while Yamal repeatedly created opportunities for him. Their combination on Barcelona's right side has become one of the most dangerous aspects of Hansi Flick's attack.
Against Sevilla, that relationship was particularly evident, with Yamal supplying both of Raphinha's second-half goals.
With Raphinha operating in a more central attacking role and Yamal given freedom to create from wide areas, Barcelona possess two players capable of both creating and finishing chances.
