JFC vs CFC Match Details
Suffering four consecutive losses in the league with a 1-0 defeat to Odisha FC at home and a fifth in eight games so far have made Jamshedpur FC fear another underwhelming season. The Men of Steels finished 10th last time, the same position on the ISL table they hug now with only a win to their name. Although their defence has leaked goals, Jamshedpur’s problems have been creating and finishing chances having failed to score in five games this season with twice at the Furnace. With only four matches left to end the year, Scott Cooper’s team have to find a solution to get their attack firing and start picking up points. They welcome a Chennaiyin FC team who has been unpredictable lately and have lost just once in this venue with a 2-2 draw last time out.
While Chennaiyin FC showed their scoring flurry by becoming clinical in finishing chances, the defence let them down again in the thrilling 3-3 Southern derby draw against Kerala Blasters. The Marina Machans took the lead within a minute of the match through Rahim Ali and although Dimitrios Diamantakos cancelled it out from the spot, a quick brace from ex-Kerala Blasters striker Jordan Murray restored the advantage. That too did not last long as Kwame Pephrah reduced the deficit to make it 3-2 at half-time before Diamantakos was allowed to score again for the equalizer. Despite not a victory, the point earned puts them in a good place to enter the top five with a win in the next match against Jamshedpur FC. However, Owen Coyle’s team will have to do it without real practice sessions because of the calamity in Chennai due to cyclonic conditions over there.
JFC vs CFC Team News
Jamshedpur FC called back Rehenesh TP from suspension in the match against Odisha FC and he will continue between the sticks on Thursday. For Chennaiyin FC, Ryan Edwards will return in defence serving his one-match ban while Aakash Sangwan and Connor Shields could be in contention after shaking off their injuries. Rahim Ali’s availability could be in doubt taken off at half-time in the Southern derby.
