The 48th edition of the Copa America organized by CONMEBOL and co-organized by CONCACAF is set to be hosted by the United States. USA will also host two more tournaments organized by FIFA - the revamped Club World Cup in 2025 as the sole nation and the 2026 men’s World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico. They also hosted the centenary year of the Copa America tournament in 2016. Argentina are the defending champions after beating arch-rivals Brazil in the 2022 edition’s final.
The 2024 edition will be contested by 16 nations, 10 coming from South America and six from North America. Among them, 14 have entered the competition directly with two more to qualify via the playoffs which will be hosted by USA as well on March 2024. The teams are divided into four groups. The winners of the playoffs will enter Group A and Group D to fill the remaining slot with B and C already consisting of four teams. The top teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals.
The Copa America 2024 will begin on June 20 and end with the final on 14 July. The opening game of the tournament will feature holders Argentina taking the playoff winner between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. A total of 54 games will be played in the tournament across 13 cities. The final match will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Playoff winner 1 (Canada or Trinidad & Tobago)
Holders Argentina, who also won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, are paired with Peru and two-time Copa America champions Chile in Group A. They will also face the winner between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago as the fourth team in the group. Certainly, La Albiceleste looks favourites to top the group leaving the battle for second place a thrilling one with Canada the most likely team to join them.

Tournament Hosts and CONCACAF Nations League winner USA are grouped with Uruguay, joint-record winners of the Copa America with 15, Panama and Bolivia.
