Barcelona continued their sensational start to the 2026/27 La Liga season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Getafe at the Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday.

Anthony Gordon opened the scoring just two minutes into the match, giving Hansi Flick's side an early advantage. Gabriel Jesus doubled Barcelona's lead in the 30th minute before Jules Kounde sealed the victory with a goal in the 73rd minute.

The result maintained Barcelona's perfect league record, with the Catalan giants winning all eight of their opening matches. The victory also strengthened their position at the top of the La Liga table.

Barcelona Matches Historic La Liga Record With Eighth Straight Win

Barcelona have won their first eight La Liga matches for only the second time in their history.

The Spanish giants previously achieved this remarkable feat during the 2013/14 campaign under manager Gerardo Martino.

Hansi Flick's current side have now matched that historic achievement, demonstrating their consistency and attacking quality throughout the opening weeks of the season.

With 24 points from 24 available, Barcelona have established themselves as early favourites in the title race and will be determined to extend their winning streak.

Barcelona Score 34 Goals in First Eight La Liga Matches

Barcelona's attacking numbers have been equally impressive, with the club scoring 34 goals in their first eight La Liga matches of the 2026/27 season.

Only Sevilla, who scored 41 goals in their opening eight matches in 1940/41, have managed more at this stage of a La Liga campaign.

Athletic Bilbao also scored 34 goals in their first eight matches during the 1930/31 season.

Barcelona's incredible scoring rate under Flick highlights their attacking firepower. If they maintain this momentum, the Catalan club could challenge further historical records as the season progresses.
