From 19 teams in the first round, we are down to 12 teams competing in Round 2 of the AFC Women’s Olympics Qualifying Tournament. Seven group winners from the first round - Uzbekistan, Iran, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Chinese Taipei and India join the automatically qualified five teams - Australia, Korea DPR, China, South Korea and Japan in this round. The draw for the second round of the qualifiers was held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 18, 2023.
The teams have been drawn into three groups of four teams and compete in a centralized venue once again. Three group winners along with the best second-ranked nation in Round 2 will qualify for the final round to decide the final two teams to represent Asia at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. The matches for the second round will begin on 26 October 2023 and end in a week on November 1, 2023.

The highest-ranked nation in this tournament and also semi-finalist in the Women’s World Cup, Australia are in Group A alongside the Philippines who debuted in that summer event and two respective group winners from the first round, Chinese Taipei and Iran.
