On 22 February 2019, FIFA announced in an official statement that Chelsea has been handed a transfer ban for two windows. This, in simpler terms, means that no signing of players until the ban is lifted. They can sell as much as they want to. The ban has been imposed upon Chelsea because there have been reports of Chelsea breaching the guidelines to sign foreign players under 18 years of age.
