Forest twice came back into the game with a former Red Neco Williams and Morgan Gibbs-White scoring but Jurgen Klopp’s stood strong under pressure, not weltering just they have done in most parts of the campaign. Signs of recovery is there even though they have leaked goals as they have scored with the six-time European champions now wishing to go a point close to a possible continental football opportunity next season from their seventh position on the table. They lost 3-1 on the previous trip to London Stadium so are cautious about their approach to not collapse again.

Gianluca Scamacca is still out with a knee injury but the striker could not have displaced Michail Antonio in scoring form from the starting XI even if fit. Angelo Ogbonna returned from his back problem as a substitute in the big win against Bournemouth while Danny Ings will face his former side if featured in the match from the bench.
