Substitute Gyamar Nikum managed to pull one back with 20-odd minutes to play plus stoppage time after Kashi went two goals down but a comeback was not forthcoming. However, Carlos Santamarina will be encouraging his players about the performance they produced facing a tough opponent ahead of facing the defending champions in their second group game. Another difficult outing for the new corporate entry in the I-League but this sort of game they will cherish, regardless of the result, building up their dream of making it into the top flight in future. Inter Kashi’s Super Cup campaign will be over with a second defeat in a row although they will have to put up a strong fight.
