After another UCL-heavy week, football returns back to its respective countries. Naturally the first thing on the minds of football fans is the Premier League. Teams like Tottenham and Liverpool are occupying the top spot with Chelsea, Leicester and Southampton not far behind. The unpredictability is high this season and naturally people will be rather picky with their Fantasy Premier League picks for the Gameweek.
Here’s some of the best picks to help you navigate through the weekend:
#1. Patrick Bamford(FWD; Leeds)
Leeds is up against West Ham. West Ham is not exactly a pushover but Bamford has been performing quite well. He goes for just 6.0 and does not take a penalty for goals conceded. Coupled with the fact that he has had 10 goal contributions so far with the recent one coming in just the last match, he’s a strong pick for any team.
#2. Calvert-Lewin(FWD; Everton)
This player goes for 8.0. Certainly does not come as cheap as Patrick Bamford, but the value he provides is just as critical. He managed to come out with 6 points even in last week’s game where his team drew 1-1.He is up against the rather strong Chelsea team but at the end of the day, he will not take any penalty for conceding. Coupled with the fact that he has a player like James providing support and there’s a good chance he’s score a decent amount of points.
#3. Mohamed Salah (MID; Liverpool)
If you have it in the bank, you owe it to yourself to purchase Mo Salah for this weekend at the very least. He is one of the top scorers in the league and has 12 goal contributions. He is up against one of the weaker sides in the League. Despite the 12.3 price tag, this is almost a guarantee of points for this striker.
#4. James Ward-Prowse (MID; Southampton)
Southampton has been performing very well so far. Their current position is 5th and they are up against the severely underperforming Sheffield United. Ward-Prowse has been one of their highlights especially with respect to the FPL. He has garnered 61 points so far with 7 goal contributions. He goes for 6.2 as well giving players plenty of reasons to purchase him.
#5. Callum Wilson(FWD; Newcastle)
He goes for just 6.6 and despite that is one of the best players in terms of the FPL, with a staggering tally of 67 points. He is up against one of the weakest teams in West Brom, so scoring is likely. The fact that he’s had 10 goal contributions and 12 points in just the last game is further reason as to why one should buy him.
