After the FA Cup weekend, we are ready for the interesting Fantasy Premier League 2024-25 Gameweek 21, where the North London Derby (Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur) is waiting.
Additionally, Gameweek 21 marks the start of the "Second Chance" round in the FPL 2024-25 season.
FPL GW21 Top Picks
Goalkeepers
Although Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels is leading the goalkeepers' FPL points with 94 points, including clean sheets in the last four fixtures, they will now face the PL points table-toppers Liverpool at home.
Everton is set to start their PL journey under David Moyes. While they are set to host Aston Villa, the second-most goalkeepers' points scorer this FPL season Jordan Pickford can be another good but risky choice.
Talking about the strong goalkeepers' for this gameweek, Manchester United goalie André Onana and Brighton glovesman Bart Verbruggen are favourites, who will face Southampton and Ipswich Town, respectively.
Defenders
As Nottingham Forest and Liverpool will face each other, we can go with one defender from each team. Forest’s defender Ola Aina is leading the defenders’ FPL points table with 95 points, while Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is in the third position with 83 points. Forest’s Nikola Milenković is also performing strongly with 83 points.
When Arsenal are set to host Spurs, Gabriel can be a good option for the Gunners, as the defender has also earned 83 points. Spurs’ defender Pedro Porro can be a good alternate option who has 69 points.
Talking about top players inside £4.4m, Newcastle’s Dan Burn (58 points), Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen (57 points) and Illia Zabarnyi (55 points), Everton’s Vitalii Mykolenko (56 points), etc., are some good names.
Midfielders
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is unstoppable this PL season with 18 goals and 13 assists. He has 209 points this FPL season. Salah had attacking returns in all the last 12 PL matches.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo are the next two best performers this FPL season with 153 and 136 points, respectively.
While Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka (107 points) and West Ham United's Jarrod Bowen (90 points) are unavailable for the selections due to injuries, Spurs' James Maddison (99 points), Liverpool’s Luis Díaz (96 points), and Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon (90 points) are the other names with at least 90 points.
Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is available at £5.5m with 88 points, while Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, who has 88 points, will face the last-placed Southampton.
Budget selections: £6.5m
Apart from Villa’s Rogers, Spurs’ Brennan Johnson (88 points) and Dejan Kulusevski (81 points), Fulham’s Alex Iwobi (87 points), Manchester United’s Amad Diallo (80 points) are strong names under the budget of £6.5m. Rogers and Amad come under £5.5m.
Forwards
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (£14.8m) is leading the forward table with 123 points as he had attacking returns in the last two PL fixtures, but Newcastle’s Alexander Isak (£9.3m) is strongly challenging Haaland with 119 points while managing attacking points in last seven PL games.
Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood (114 points) and Wolves Matheus Cunha (111 points) are the other remaining names in the three-figure points in the forward list, and both are available inside £7.0m.
Chelsea’s Nicholas Jackson has 96 points but failed to earn attacking points in the last four PL fixtures. As Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins (94 points) is now available for the full game, he can be a good choice.
Budget selections: £6.5m
If we need budget selections in the forward for £6.5m or lower, we have Brentford’s Yoane Wissa (91 points), Fulham’s Raúl Jiménez (87 points), Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap (80 points), Wolves’ Jørgen Larsen (79 points), etc., are available as some good options. Except for Wissa, all are less than £6.0m.
